New 52 Week Highs and Reader Updates

Ever wondered why managers can’t beat the S&P500? Because they’re sheep and sheep get slaughtered. - Gordon Gekko

That’s why we created a new approach: The LongVol Report - a report that delivers actionable idea flow to empower investors them instead of confusing them. We think independently, we are contrarian and we actually do the work.

🤝 New Here? Here Are Some Ways I Can Help

  1. The LongVol Report PDF, Sent out each Sunday - 21 Day Trial & Free Copy

  2. For Busy Professionals: The AST Swing Portfolio Alerts

  3. Bustamante Capital Management: An Unconventional Asset Manager

  4. The Weekly Long Vol Report VideoCast/Podcast - Spotify & YouTube

Quick updates for readers.

  1. No Pod/Video this week

There is no weekly video/podcast this week as I am still traveling in Japan but it will resume next week and we have a back log of questions. You can re-watch last weeks below if you missed it.

  1. Fall 2025 Phoenix Conference

The Fall Conference deadline here is next week (we already have a head count for this) but for those that are attending please register no later than September 7th. Spots are already confirmed for many but we need to know if we are using a larger conference room space at the office so please register by then.

  1. Two of the Core Stock Monitor Ideas Ripped

Two of the recent ideas have performed well this week and if you are using the new format of the write-ups here you can view them. This makes it easier for readers of the PDF report to reference the “why” we like the Core/long-term ideas.

$AFRM ( ▲ 3.09% ) - New 52 Week Highs

I’ve been talking about the breakout on this thing for the last month and we got it with earnings, the stock is at $94s in after-hours. I talk to many new readers (and those that email in) about the report use and this is one of them. When folks ask what my strategy is the answer is tough because I am not just looking at 52-week breakouts or just value plays like $ATRO ( ▲ 3.56% ) - we look at a lot of ideas through or proprietary screens and then put the “best ones” into the report. This just so happened to be a great technical set-up with some fundamental tailwinds driving it and it didn’t require me looking at unusual call flows, dark pool prints or worrying about other indicators.

Below are the quick-read notes from the report so you can screen ideas and then if you want, go and do more work on them.

Notes from the report

This is one of the better ways I have found to invest because you are not just dependent on breakouts to take trades or even just waiting on some value play; you get to look at different types of investments so that you always have idea flow and for me idea flow is king because I want to put capital to work.

This idea made the “Best Ideas” section of the report he last 3 issues because I liked it so much so even readers that find the report “too much” to go through the Best Ideas section aggregates it down (again) to the best of the best.

This made the “Best Ideas” section the last 3 weeks for readers

My initial soft-targets from the report as you can see were $88-$90 but we’re just above that at $94s in after hours so this will be a nice gift tomorrow morning for subscribers of the report.
