🔔 Updates To LongVol Report
I started publishing The LongVol Report PDF almost four years ago because it was initially my own research I used for idea flow to run my fund and own money and it helped to subsidize costs that went into the data and analyst that helps me with it.
The report is complex and it is a lot of data and notes to go through but that’s what I use to manage my own money and the funds idea flow.
Despite best-efforts over the years to make it 'simpler’, testing many things, the one thing that only really ever caught mass traction was the Weekly Best Ideas section and the other short-term options trades.
There are really only a handful of readers that use it that have mid 6-figure to 7-figure portfolios and that’s really where the report comes to life because you can actually buy and hold the equity long ideas like $ATRO ( ▼ 3.49% ) $BA ( ▲ 0.5% ) $GXO ( ▲ 1.12% ) $VFC ( ▲ 0.78% ) and others in there we talk about and the reality is that you can’t really trade short-term on those ideas because that’s now how they work.
Ron S. (one of many who are readers w/ those portfolios who are coming to the fall conference next month) is one of them who is up $500K YTD - and there are many others YoY who are up low to mid 6-figures with the research in there.

Then there are countless others (like Brad below) who have used the report with smaller portfolios and found a way to make it work. While they may not have been in the Core idea research (which they shouldn’t be) they were in other sections and that’s good!

However, the reality is that most of the ideas that many readers are making money on with short-term trading are not really names that require us to do fundamental research on. The items we do cover that require the research are turn-around plays like $VFC ( ▲ 0.78% ) or $ATRO ( ▼ 3.49% ) or margin improvement stuff like $GNRC ( ▼ 1.12% ).
There are more names that are momentum-driven which you all know because we started covering some of them in the Weekly Best Ideas that I started to accommodate other readers of the report.
The issue that I have is that I don’t have the time to write that each week as well because my time is focused on the research of the ideas in that report because I use it personally and for the hedge fund. It takes myself and the analyst 4-7 hours a week to go through over +35 names a week, update them, notate them and because I have to do it anyway it doesn’t make a difference.
However, the Weekly Best Ideas, options flows tracking, price-action and charts stuff I just don’t have the time for and to be honest I don’t really like talking about that stuff much anymore.
Fortunately, I have a long-time friend and ex-mentee who I taught over 10 years ago who is going to take over for me on that starting this week.
✅ Options Flows w/ Trader X
There are very few people that I would trust with this because it takes time to do and I actually want people that make money trading risk (unlike my macro newsletter gurus) doing it and he is one that agreed to it.
Each week he is going to be posting:
Weekly Best Ideas w/ 2-3 Options Ideas
Price Charts w/ Notes
Trade Recaps of Trades He Made
Options Flows Insights

This will only be focused around short-term options trades, price-action and options flows insights that you can use. If you’re already a subscriber then this is just an addition to what you have and more posts coming around this framework.
There will not be a chat-room for it since he doesn’t have the time to sit there all day and talk about the markets but the 2-3 ideas each week, trade reviews and options flows insights will be more than enough.
This will start tomorrow with the Weekly Best Ideas posted here as usual but now from Trader X, along with other posts from him during the week.
I’ll be able to focus on The LongVol Report, research and do what I do and we all win!
Enjoy the weekend!
