  • There was one new Swing Position added this week here.

Another bullish week in the markets as trade deals came in. We also had some nice flows in energy names this week which was nice for a change to see. With trade deals coming in it gives a bit more clarity on sectors and last weeks PDF was titled “No Shortage of Ideas” - there really is no shortage right now and I have been getting to work putting cash to work and plan to do more once this monthly OPEX is done.

I do think we are a bit frothy here at these highs on the broad market names and owing some vol maybe prudent…..

  • $AAP ( ▲ 5.41% ) a name I talked about earlier this year is really on a tear - I do not have a position was too unclear for me but just a quick note for readers.

  • The investment banks/PE $HLI ( ▼ 0.61% ) and $KKR ( ▼ 1.4% ) are making moves quietly this week and that’s a theme I am bullish on (M&A picking up) and probably worth a look.

  • $BA ( ▲ 0.33% ) made a big move this week as it’s catching more and more upgrades

The Russell 2000 also outperformed, gaining 3.5%. Key drivers included a stronger-than-expected June jobs report, adding 147,000 nonfarm payrolls, which reduced expectations for a Federal Reserve rate cut in July to below 5%.

A U.S.-Vietnam trade agreement lowered tariffs, boosting market optimism, though uncertainty persists with a July 9 tariff deadline looming. Tech stocks, particularly Nvidia and Microsoft, led gains, with the Technology sector continuing to outperform. However, high valuations (S&P 500 forward P/E at 23) and overbought signals (RSI above 70 for S&P 500 and Russell 2000) suggest potential near-term pullbacks.

Quick updates: we are making some changes to the website and are just going to be using TheLongVolReport.com to make it easier for everyone so thanks for sticking with us on these changes. You will see some new pages here in coming days.

Finally. I will be in New York for a week starting Saturday to play golf with some friends and to get my once-a-year NY fix in. Some have reached out to meet up and we’ll make it happen - if you’re a reader of the site or a potential investor drop me a line or DM me on Twitter.

@Sandalyn on a heater this week with some nice swings cashing in!
