Good morning traders!
I’ve been getting questions from some readers on price-action and what I do to find ideas and the easiest thing I can say is that you need to learn to read price-action and a chart. I don’t ever look at news headlines or really have opinions on companies other than ideas that I will take from the newsletter so most of it is price-action. There is a lecture series that we have here that is a good starting point and if you are going to slow down into the end of the year it’s a good time to start into that.
So I would start there and learn that if you want to accelerate the learning or just continue to read the members posts as we go forward.
The Market:
I am done trading for 2025 and the last trade I am making is on a name I am going to highlight this week for readers. My other positions are already on and it’s just the usual game of waiting which we’re happy to do but it is OPEX this week which means there is probably some chop and sideways action plus the BOJ is hiking rates which will affect some of the flows and Dan talked about that in the latest webinar. I feel the same way when I look at the $SPY ( ▼ 1.08% ) here and think the idea of trying to push for new highs or expecting them, at this point, is a fools errand and that the idea of sitting it out a bit is the play. For me, I have had a great 2025 and I normally take 2-3 weeks off end of the year and almost never trade into the last few weeks and that will not change this time. One, it’s a good time to reset and then plan for 2026 meaning looking at ideas, seeing where flows will go and then see how to tweak anything from the prior year.
I am going to attend the 2026 market outlook this week on Thursday and would suggest everyone go as well because there should be some general idea flows there to use for next years markets.
This week I am going to discuss a name that I introduced end of last week with you all in a large cap tech name that has triggered and which has another 10% or so to go into it and better it probably runs in just 3-5 days of trading so for those that like quick-hit trades this is one to pay attention too.
